How to play
TwizGame runs in the browser. Nothing to install, no accounts.
Hosting a game
- On the screen everyone can see (a TV, a laptop, or the computer you stream from), open twizgame.com/host.
- Type a room name and a password. Anything you like. Capital letters do not matter.
- A QR code appears. Players scan it with their phone camera, or open the join page and type the room name and password.
- When everyone is in, pick a game from the list and press start. The host screen shows the game. Phones are the controllers.
The host screen is not a player. If you want to play too, join from your own phone like everyone else. The host screen is only the shared view, which is what makes it safe to put on a stream.
Joining a game
- Scan the QR code on the host screen, or open twizgame.com/join on your phone.
- Type the room name and password the host gave you, pick a name and a colour, and tap join.
- Wait on the lobby screen until the host starts a game. Your phone then turns into the controller.
What your phone needs
- A phone from the last few years with an up-to-date browser (Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android).
- Wi-Fi or mobile data. The phone and the host screen do not need to be on the same network.
- Keep the screen on and the browser in front. Switching apps mid-game can disconnect you for a moment. Reopening the page puts you back in your seat.
Common problems
"Room not found"Check the spelling of the room name and the password. Capital letters do not matter, but every letter does. Ask the host to read it out.
"Room is full"The room has as many players as it allows. Ask the host to make room, or wait for the next game.
The host screen shows "Host reconnecting"The host's browser lost its connection. The room waits about a minute for it to come back. If the host closes the page for good, the room ends and everyone returns to the join screen.
My phone says it was disconnectedReload the page. Your seat is kept for you while the room is open. If the room sat with no players for about ten minutes, it closed itself and the host needs to open a new one.
The QR code will not scanMake the host screen bigger or move closer. Or skip it: open the join page and type the room name and password instead.
It feels laggyMobile data with a weak signal is the usual cause. Try Wi-Fi, or step closer to the router. On very old phones, open the gear on the game screen and pick a lower quality.
I got kickedThe host removed you from the room. Only the host can let you back in.
Streaming it
Put the host page on your stream as a window or browser source. Your viewers join with the room name and password you share, so you decide who gets in. Nothing personal shows on the host screen: no phone numbers, no emails, no account names, only the player names people chose.
